Alder Springs
Deaf & Blind Community
Morganton, NC

Plans

The deaf are a “gathering people” who prefer living in close community because their primary language (American Sign Language) requires visual contact for free flowing interaction.

Most deaf individuals living in a hearing world experience prolonged isolation from others who speak their language. Abiding loneliness can be a difficult and very real consequence in their lives.

The blind prefer living in simple, barrier free environments that are located very close to essential services and amenities.

The Deaf & Blind community is not a continuing care retirement facility. It will not have a healthcare facility nor offer meal services.
